saturday night scooter & i went to see hustle & flow, and it was a damn good movie. not the island-style summer blockbuster movie, but rougher around the edges, you know, raw. with a kickass soundtrack to boot. i’d been wanting to see it for ages after getting swept up in a preview — which, it’s rare i want to see a movie based on previews, but you know — and had been repeatedly thwarted.

so scooter picked up the uncut, uncensored dvd of Team America: World Police, thus, officially, between the two of us, we now own every matt stone & trey parker movie. fuck yeah! ours is a blessed household. anyway, we watched it last night. jesus titty-fucking christ, i had forgotten how funny and *wrong* that movie is.

today scooter and i went to see The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, w00t!!! and i have to say, it was just plain awesome. seriously. not only is it one of my favorite books come to film, but it had mos def in it! i mean, how much more awesome can you get? no, seriously.
my love for mos def grows and grows, of course; but that is to be expected. the movie, however, was quite good. highly enjoyable and very well done. and they used jim henson’s creature shop for most of the aliens (mos not included) which was awesome. jim henson rocked. and did i mention mos def was in it? cuz he was. and he’s totally my future baby daddy (sorry ken…). and i love him.
that said, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, i highly recommend it. even if you don’t have a not-so-secret desire to ravage mos def…
