yesterday, saddam hussein was executed. and the western world cheered its collective ass off. but bush is still in the white house, still ruining everything, and it just doesn’t seem fair.
what’s worse is cnn is totally showing his death, like it’s a fucking spectator sport or something. like it’s fucking entertainment. but really, that’s all it is to the american people.
a chance to gawk, a chance to gloat, a chance to revel in something totally barbaric all while under the delusions that it’s “justified”.
U.S. troops cheered as news of Saddam‘s execution appeared on television at the mess hall at Forward Operating Base Loyalty in eastern Baghdad. But some soldiers expressed doubt that Saddam’s death would be a significant turning point for Iraq.
“First it was weapons of mass destruction. Then when there were none, it was that we had to find Saddam. We did that, but then it was that we had to put him on trial,” said Spc. Thomas Sheck, 25, who is on his second tour in Iraq. “So now, what will be the next story they tell us to keep us over here?”
i don’t really think he deserved that. hundreds of world leaders have been assassinated or executed and not made such a spectacle of before. and he was just an old man, such an old man. a sad, weary, beaten old man.
there is no glory in this death.
not for the US and not for the iraqi people.
there is shame.
out of which leader exactly has killed more iraqis, bush is far ahead of hussein in the race and now can continue with his merciless slaughter of innocent people unopposed. hussein has no chance to wrack up numbers anymore.
but what i want to know is, when will we drag bush to the gallows?
