last night i made a most scrumptious dinner. which was a pleasant surprise because it was all about trying out new recipes. early last year i fell in love with smoked paprika…which, if you love paprika to begin with, this is a whole ‘nother ballgame. subtly spicy-sweet and smoky, it makes nearly every dish fantastic. i’ve been using it liberally in as many recipes as possible and have all but abandoned regular paprika. so, of course when i found a recipe for smoked paprika chicken, i absolutely had to try it. plus, in all of my culinary adventures, i’ve never baked/roasted a whole chicken myself.
not only was it fuckin tasty but it was so unbelievably simple! and tasty! next, i dug up a recipe for garlicky broccolini (like regular broccoli only longer stems and much more tender). i was surprised to even get my hands on broccolini at the local shaws, and the ‘recipe’ was so simple yet so delicious. over the weekend i tried my hand at white sangria (with red, white and blueberries) and pulled pork, and they were extra tasty as well.
on the whole, my kitchen adventures were pretty successful, and i definitely am adding more recipes to my repertoire. also, the boy did not complain.
