george carlin is dead. this is the worst possible day in the world, god. my love of george carlin know no bounds and just cannot believe this.
George Carlin, the dean of counterculture comedians whose biting insights on life and language were immortalized in his “Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV” routine, died of heart failure Sunday. He was 71.
some say his routines got a bit old and tired, but at 71 i’d say mr. carlin was a bit old and tired himself. still, such a sudden death out of the blue. nothing is permanent or a sure thing these days, that’s for sure. either way, you have to appreciate the comedy greats and give them their due.
you will be missed, good sir, you will be missed.
“So my name is a footnote in American legal history, which I’m perversely kind of proud of,” he told The Associated Press earlier this year. — george carlin
