yesterday, we went to see paul after chowing down on some super delicious mexican food (oh, mexican food, how i <3 you forever). then we went down to the framingham theatre to see paul. i hadn’t seen much about the movie all together because we don’t really watch tv, and unless i actively seek out information, didn’t really see much in the way of trailers.
i have, however, been waiting for this movie forever. it combines all the things i really love: simon pegg, nick frost, geek humor, and seth rogen. i definitely love the buddy films that pegg & frost have been putting out together — hot fuzz & shaun of the dead are my favorites — but throwing rogen into the mix just adds a whole other level of fuck yeah, awesome! to it all.
paul was genuinely funny, and adorable. it was fun, quirky and really hilarious. also, jane lynch was in it, and she is magnificent in everything. seriously, i will sit through an episode of glee because of the awesome that is jane lynch (note: glee has been SERIOUSLY DEVOID of any good lynch parts in quite a long time).
all in all, it was a cute movie and i’m glad we saw it. plus, it also proves just how much i fucking love seth rogen that i find him completely adorable and endearing when he is nothing more than a voice in a film. and, ok, the paul design was cute, too.
definitely wouldn’t mind seeing this one again sometime.
