so i broke down and bought the yeahyeahyeahs album today (or rather, saturday). yeah, so? i fucking dig it, ok?
sure, i heard maps on the radio and liked it because sometimes i’m mushy and girly and retarded — brutally retarded — but i was won over with the screechy, raw vocals and the energized beats of some of their other songs…ya dig?
so far, so good…i’m groovin’ on this album fairly well. karen o reminds me of joan jett in a way. or maybe even, hmmm…i’m trying to think who else. she’s not the prettiest singer in the world (vocally) but she has this energy, right? actually a lot of the gutteral stuff and vocals and whatnot make me think of bjork.
which reminds me, i have to get the new bjork album…
