to inflict this:
fat man
and this:
little boy
upon japan. or upon any other nation or living creature in the world.
there really is no excuse in the world for that kind of shit. pearl harbor was bad because it made americans look stupid (it’s funny the instances that people pick to notice that fact). and because the US was just aching for a reason to jump into the middle of a battle that it had no business in.
it’s disgusting, really…how history keeps repeating itself…
9/11 was bad…because there was no precedent & we had no way of protect ourselves or successfully contain the damage of such an incident. along with the fact that practically no americans ever thought something like that could happen on US soil. many lives were lost because of this. the official count records 2,986 deaths in the attacks including the hijackers. pearl harbor rounded out at around 2,403 american casualties, these numbers are exceptionally close together in the grand scheme of things.
are roughly 3,000 lives worth the ever-growing casualties in iraq? american soldiers & iraqi civilians are dying left and right, every day. and it’s just getting worse and worse. it’s an obsession, a futile effort. an unhealthy american craze to avenge slights against our “honor” and attacks on our “freedom”. it’s god damned crazy. tragedy happens, and loss, and death…all the time, the whole world over. you set right what you can, mourn for the dead, pay your respects, bolster up your courage and rebuild. but most importantly, you move on. nothing justifies the sheer numbers of iraqis killed.
are iraqi bodies worth less than american? by these estimates, approximately over 10,000 iraqis are killed for every one, single, solitary american person that died in 9/11.
but when you look at this, how can you compare a couple thousand people to the hundreds of thousands of people — mostly civilian people, i might add — that american ignorance and arrogance killed? so many lives…destroyed…ended…ruined…
nagasaki:
According to most estimates, some 75,000 of Nagasaki’s 240,000 residents were killed, followed by the death of at least as many from resulting sickness and injury. However, another report issues a different residential number, speaking of Nagasaki’s population which dropped in one split-second from 422,000 to 383,000, thus 39,000 were killed, over 25,000 were injured. Including those who died from radioactive materials causing cancer, the total number of residents killed is believed to be at least 100,000.
hiroshima:
At 08:15, the Enola Gay dropped the nuclear bomb called “Little Boy” over the center of Hiroshima. It exploded about 600 meters (2,000 feet) above the city with a blast equivalent to 13 kilotons of TNT, killing an estimated 80,000 civilians.
today is the anniversary of pearl harbor. because a couple thousand americans were killed, we remember & honor the fallen. and we ignore the fact that more japanese have perished, suffered and lost everything than most americans can even count.
how is this justifiable? how is something like this even allowed?
how is the entire nation not completely wracked with shame and guilt?
this is not an eye for a fucking eye. and this sure as fucking hell isn’t even remotely close to honoring the dead. this is senseless murder, gluttonous displays of “power” and tragic waste of human life.
