Saddam Hussein is being tried on charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to the Anfal military campaign in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq in the late 1980s.
while:
President Bush’s approval rating held steady in the latest CNN poll released Monday, virtually unchanged since the start of August. Forty-two percent of the adults questioned approve of how the president is handling his job, while 55 percent disapprove.
so there is a majority disapproval rating, and that’s considered acceptable. additionally, now more US citizens have died as a result of this so-called “war on terrorism” than were killed in 9/11. more soldiers have died in iraq for no reason and it’s ok.
bush has killed more iraqis than saddam hussein ever did, or possibly ever could, and he’s not being tried or even scolded for his actions.
comparatively, i think only the farce of congress is what separates gw’s regime from saddam’s. that and the hope of term limitations looming on the horizon.
so what i want to know is, when will bush be tried? or is it only ok for america to commit crimes against humanity these days?
