i knew this week was going to absolutely DRAG, and it totally is…ugh.
- top 10 movies that made you cry
- rudy: i will admit, that hobbits playing football for good ol’ notre dame totally gets me every time. i love this movie so hard.
- hero: it’s such a sad movie, but so beautiful. the end part, though…always gets me a bit.
- eternal sunshine of the spotless mind: i love this movie, i think it’s great. but i saw it at a really bad time in my little dysfunctional world and i can’t disassociate the two anymore. and so the movie hits me a little harder than intended, i think. still, i love the movie.
- carlito’s way: (note: there is only ONE carlito’s way, damnit!) for a brief moment in time, i loved al pacino. this movie is why.
- selena: what? i’m mexican, damnit! and selena was awesome…so tragic!
- shawshank redemption: sometimes, i think the room gets a tad bit dusty when this movie is on.
- 12 monkeys: this movie is full of the futility and hopelessness of like…everything. if i think about it, it could make me cry. i don’t think it has yet, but it could.
- the motorcycle dairies: such a beautiful movie. oh che…
- charlotte’s web: i am still very angry they’re making a live action version of this, but when i was a youngin’ this one & watership down got to me.
- dumbo: when i was wee, for some reason it made me cry. but i haven’t seen it in over 10 years, so i don’t think it still would.
(note: i’m not one for bawlin’ at movies usually)

Recent History
- theatre movie: curse of the golden flower. totally, unbelievably awesome movie. i can’t wait to see it again.
- home movie: tried to watch a scanner darkly last night, was so unbefuckinglievably boring that i didn’t make it all the way through. yawnfest.
- between the two: no comparison, man!
- recommendation: GO SEE CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER!! GO SEE IT NOW!!! and nobody should bother with bill & ted’s animated adventure…i mean, a scanner darkly
What movie did you see most recently in the theatre? What was the last movie you watched at home (on television or DVD/VHS)? What did you think of these two films? Would you recommend them to others? Why or why not?
