it’s like the week is making a concerted effort to crap all over my Awesome Weekend. not only is today marathon day (gag) but it’s fucking total bullshit outside. i’m soggy and cranky and under slept now. the only thing keepign me from a full-scale homicidal rage is the fact that my beautiful lil car now has music. nothing is better than driving with some kick-ass tunes.
also, i both did a lot and did a lot of nothing this weekend, which was just so great. sometimes i really like having no set plan, you know? it means there are no deadlines no pressures, nothing. it’s relaxing. in fact, the only thing that was actually “scheduled” over the weekend was my cd installation for the car and even that got moved up earlier & thus more convenient.
music in the car? check. 300 soundtrack for rockin’ out? check. fucking delish stephen colbert ice cream? double-fuckin’-check. kick ass local bar within spittin’ distance of home? c-h-e-c-k! unbelievably awesome movie in unbelievably shitty theatre? double-check.
grindhouse, now that is a movie, man. it was awesome. the gore, the action, the hos, the fast cars, the explosions, the weapons, the fighting, the pretend movie ads (machete!!!), the dialogue, everything about it was just so much fun! also: hot cars. and, tracie thoms (from wonderfalls) was in death proof and absolutely awesome. probably the most impressive person in the whole movie: zoë bell. it’s not often you see women stunt actors, but she’s pretty fuckin’ bad ass. and obviously does her own shit, and does it well. and of course, i am not surprised that tarantino uses her so much, but he does so with good reason. i mean, you have to give props to anyone willing to flop around on the hood of a car going at breakneck speed just for kicks.
mad props.
and now…i pretend to be productive…
