and a slightly OCD-like obsession with stitching…
so, it’s no lie that i’ve been super into my t-shirt reconstruction efforts (i’ve successfully completed 3 ‘surgeries’ at this point), and this weekend i finally wrapped up a project that’s taken forever in just plain effort and reconsideration.
the ideas i have in my head never quite match up to what plays out in the fabric, but i have to say, i’m pretty proud of this one so far…
here is the t-shirt that fell unwittingly into my clutches. the boy has the same exact shirt, so sometimes that can be confusing. no matter what, matching clothes is NOT SEXY. unsexy. antisexy.
and thus, something had to be done.
i decided on a tube top, since it seemed easy.
getting it to fight right around the bustline was difficult. or mabye just for me since i’m slightly retarded with all this.
and, because i made the trim so secure around the top, i wasn’t sure about getting it on and off…thus, lace-up back!
i really like how the lace-up turned out.
all freaking hand sewn and re-enforced. so many darts! i really should think about a sewing machine sometime, i guess.
and, i finally got better shots of my last t-shirt! to top it all off, i’ve started ANOTHER t-shirt surgery. heh.
after some minor tweaks this weekend (strap adjustment and such) my shirt is a million times better.
i can’t wait to go home and work on the new shirt.
