ok first off, if you have not already seen superbad, fucking GO SEE IT! your life will not be complete until you experience the joy of that movie. otherwise, how else will you find out that all the best foods are [ ]-shaped?
seth rogen is a godlike creature of absolute hilarity, and you should at the very least run to the movie now just to see him. he’s fabulous, since freaks & geeks he’s been fabulous (which reminds me, i seriously need that on dvd). and really, i have the humor and maturity of a 12 year old boy, so i absolutely loved the entire movie. bill hader (cop companion to seth rogen) was a surprisingly funny discovery as well.
hooray for superbad!
and of course, seeing this movie on friday was exactly what i needed. work was being considerably wonky and retarded and unmitigated hilarity was more than what the doctor ordered. honestly, i hadn’t necessarily expected much from this film, but that might have been for the best. i went in with no expectations and was completely blown away.
it set the course for the rest of my weekend, that’s for damned sure.
saturday would have, under any other circumstances, been absolutely ordinary and yet rocked just as hard even if it wasn’t my birthday.
i do admit to only recently discovering campaign for real-time. if not for the roadsteamer cd release party at the paradise, i would not know of their awesomeness. they’re funky cool and exceptionally rockin’. and thus, i love them. and the fuzzy wonderful in the back, with the blue plastic glasses? he’s my future baby daddy of america. adorable AND insanely awesome.
they rocked out saturday night at great scott’s and i picked up their cd. have not stopped listening to it, so good! laura & her husband came out with the boy & me and now they love c4rt as well. and really, who can blame them?
it was just, such a good show. nothing gets me going like live music. even if i couldn’t hear right again for hours after, i care not. it was totally worth it and totally awesome.
sunday, after FINALLY BEATING THE STUPID BOOSTER PACK IN LUMINES!!!! (ahem) kristen & ben came over to my super messy apartment and we all went to green tea for dim sum. yay! i love dim sum! i love kristen & ben. even better, alex & lindsay were there! super yay all around! shirley came too.
also: unholy amounts of food. like, all kinds of food and not just the large meatfests we’d been having at home.
then there were presents. i’m always so…weird with presents. i don’t know what to do with them. of course i love them, but i hate opening them in front of people. i feel scrutinized. or silly. of course, my presents were AWESOME. the boy got me a shark week dvd boxed set!!! sharks!!! RAWR!!! with some sort of nifty holographic cover so every time you move it you see a big ol’ great white lunging forward jaws open wide to attack! it’s kick ass.
he also got me an 80 gb ipod.
it’s black
it’s sexy
it’s new
it works
and it’s 80 gb of space for me to fill with music…!
obviously, i’ve been playing with it nonstop. and i’ve only just broken the 20 gb mark.
the new interface takes some getting used to, but it’s totally worth it. i mean, new ipod! omg!
of course, today has been all about campaign for real-time and the ipod. two great tastes that taste great together!
in other news: i am registered for kickball!
