the year is coming to a close way too fast, man. i hadn’t properly realized it at all. and maybe it’s because i am so ill-prepared for winter. not that i don’t have fuzzy warm clothes and whatnot, just mentally i was not aware enough for it to be november all of a sudden.
where did fall go? how did i miss it?
now it’s december on saturday and what the hell have i been doing with myself? i mean…really?
i’m so ill-prepared; but i am making an effort. the christmas tree is up, and it does look pretty spiffy if i do say so myself. there will be festive, seasonal cookings (future menus include stew, homemade bread and maybe a pie or two…). i’ve slowly begun the whole holiday shopping thing, though it is a bit daunting right now. and just last night i picked up a pretty spiffy advent calendar from starbucks.
yes, i realize tons of people have issues with starbucks. but you see, those people are douche bags and i don’t care what they think. dunkin donuts can suck it dry. besides, out of all the advent calendars i’ve seen so far this year, this one is my favorite. or at least, it is the least unassuming or imposing. besides, how can you argue with a calendar that is filled with dark and milk chocolate truffles and solid milk chocolate mini bars? really, how can you?
now i only have to figure out if i should pack it with me when i go to colorado or just save it at home to have a mini chocolate feast upon my return? tough choice, man. and of course, i haven’t even completely unpacked from my last trip back home and all of a sudden i’ll have to start getting ready for december’s trip. so.fucking.ill-prepared.
it’s ridiculous.
to get over some of the insane stress of it all, i went out with chip last night. good friend, open bar…what more can you ask for? plus, the local fare was hilarious. now hat TV is dead (though, i never really cared about television anyway) you gotta get your entertainment somewhere, and the crowd at tommy doyle’s did not disappoint.
of course, it has now been proven that no girl native to new england has soul. i am marginally surprised at texas though…you don’t mess with texas, man.
best part of it all? f-r-e-e.
can’t argue with that
