this has been one hell of a shitty week. most likely will go down in history as the shittiest of all shitty weeks.
but this just takes the cake:
In a sweeping new financial aid initiative announced today, Harvard said it would significantly reduce the expected contributions from middle- and upper-class families and eliminate loans for all students.

in other words…just now they’re realizing that maybe all families can’t contribute such hefty portions towards undergraduate tuition. surprise, fucking surprise.
too bad it’s not a retroactive decision.
i can’t count on one hand how many times i painstakingly explained my financial situation to the so-called advisors and begged for just a tiny bit of compromise. that’s all i needed, really…just a bit of understanding and fucking help.
but no…the finaid procedures were practically set in stone and no matter how my personal circumstances were, it was no matter. i could have been a trust fund baby or a hobo, and it would not have mattered a single bit to the university.
i guess now i’m just really bitter. oh well.
