these little mini-vacations that the boy and i are taking are absolutely fabulous, though bittersweet.
on the one hand, they’re exactly everything i need and so gorgeous and fun and relaxing. and on the other hand, they’re far too fucking short and coming back to reality (aka boston) is a bit of a sudden shock on the heels of such a fantastically wonderful weekend. it’s so sad how we barely arrive in maine and then before you know it, we’re packing up to head right back again.
still, something is better than nothing. and in this case, that something is fucking awesome.
everything in maine is just so incredible that we never want to come home, and so much was crammed into the last three days that i can’t even properly remember it all except that it makes me very, very happy.
highlights include: the most delicious of pizzas ever, freezing to death on the beach and then passing out friday night, tasty tasty tasty waffles, the most gorgeous day at the beach ever, tons of swimming in the ocean, tapas tapas tapas and more tapas (now with cocktails!), insanely delicious italian food, frolicking in ogunquit, canolis for the boy, antique automobile museums, dvd sales, and a DAIRY QUEEN (yes, a REAL dairy queen! with soft serve!)!
really, it was the most perfect weekend ever…
