this morning (read: noon) when i was traipsing to work, trying not to melt to death in the sticky-humid-soggy-sweltering-smelly central square heat there was a randomly sketchy dude outside the office in jean cutoff shorts.
now, it’s central square, sketchy dudes are not that fucking unique around here. but this one was strapping a GIANT FUCKING POLE to one of the parking meters. a giant fucking pole connected to a car battery strapped to one of the parking meters in front of the police station.
of course, it is the cambridge police and they are 30 lbs. of useless in a 5 lb. bag, basically. you could murder someone on the curb outside the station and they probably wouldn’t even notice until they read it in the fucking metro the next day.
everyone in the office is all “bwha?” until we found out the origins of mildly sketchy dude:
Re: Sketchy dude outside
He said they are looking for a place to put a transceiver.

cellphone transceiver? surely not on our building…? and what’s up with the fucking car battery? wouldn’t a real cell phone company have slightly better equipment, and maybe not let their employees dress like drunken hobos?
still, gotta feel sorry for the sketchy dude and his tiny little folding lawn chair in the hotter-than-shit-on-a-stick weather outside. yick!
