i feel like i haven’t really been focusing on football much this season. which is a damn shame because the franchise is in a rebuilding year and full of lots of young talent that could really be the foundation for the next great raiders team.
i have hope, and faith and have never given up on the boys in silver & black no matter what the scoreboards say. and really, can you really be a fan if you walk out in the darkest hour? really? no, you can’t. unless your a new england sports fan and they’re almost 95% entirely made out of douchenozzles. so fuck ’em.
plus, last year ended on a high note. once all the head coach drama has cleared away, it appears that cable is committed to building something out of the team, and really focusing on developing talent and winning some fuckin’ ball games. also, it appears russell is pulling his head out of his ass (finally!) so we should see some interesting quarter backing this season.
i’m excited, and want to spend more time on it, but man…life. fuck.
anyway, the raiders are hosting the saints this weekend. preseason game #2. last week was an excellent game, seriously spectacular (and i missed the replay last night, fuck fuck fuck), but we’re holding strong at 1-1. i’d like to see the boys take down new orleans, so who knows.
SERIES: Saturday’s contest against the Saints is the fourth preseason meeting between these two ball clubs, with the Raiders holding a 2-1 advantage. In regular season games, the teams are tied at 5-5-1 in a series that began in 1971. Their last match up was at the Louisiana Superdome in October 2008, which also marked Tom Cable’s first game as head coach of the Raiders.
looking forward to it for sure.
