so, one night in puerto vallarta aragorn and i decided to sign up for one of the vallarta adventures that we’d been eyeing pretty much since we decided to go to mexico in the first place (aside from the dolphin swimming, obviously).
thus, we signed up for rhythms of the night and got ready and headed out to nuevo vallarta to catch our boat.
it started with a cruise from nuevo vallarta across the bay of banderas to las caletas. basically, the cruise was HOLY SHIT FUCKING AWESOMETACULAR! squared. times eleventybillion. the weather was perfect, though warm, the bar was open and the views were fantastic.
when we got to las caletas, well, oppressive jungle heat and humidity plus overpowering incense totally fucked with my system and i almost went down for the evening, but there was a really awesome show with dancers and music and drums and FIRE! that was pretty much kick ass (except for the lady that puked in a hat and passed out when the show started). then we had a candle-lit dinner in the pitch-black humid as shit jungle. also: i wrecked the shit out of my ankle on one of the chairs.
basically, i am not equipped for oppressive, strangling humidity…bummer. but the views from the boat and the cruise across the bay was fantastic. also, puerto vallarta lit up at night is just…beautiful. and of course, just because the show was in las caletas does not mean the entertainment stopped there. part of the vallarta adventures package is a boat crew that not only gets you two and from your destination in one piece, while serving you tasty drinks and being awesome…but…they dance too! that’s right, motherfuckin’ dudes dancing on boats!
