i can’t get over the concert. that we were there, that it really happened, that it’s all over. luckily, i came across a full audio version of the concert (with a song-by-song breakdown into .mp3 format), and it’s fucking spectacular. it’s all i’ve been listening to.
everything was so good, so unbelievable. and i am so immensely glad that we were there. i never knew that new york could be so fun, really. sure i’ve had at least one other good trip to new york but i never saw anything other than the sony studio and the bus station. it was very cut & dried.
this time, not only was i having SO MUCH FUN in new york, but i was with the boy and it was nice to not be out there alone. and to be with someone who actually wanted to do all the fun things there are to do, you know?
i’ve been listening to the concert on repeat on repeat on repeat…forever. it’s not as great as being there (obviously) but it’s definitely better than nothing.
lcd soundsystem wasn’t always the forefront of what i listen to on a given day (except for around album releases then it’s beat on repeat forever), but i’m realizing how much of an impact they had on my life and just how much i require the music at all times (honestly, lcd sound system fucking REVOLUTIONIZED my gym playlists like you wouldn’t believe…)
and it is sad, and it is overwhelming because despite the fact that james murphy is still around and DFA is still a major force, it’s like i don’t know how to act without the potential of another show, another album. what show are we going to go to and swelter and dance and melt and rock out at next year? is there any comparison?
I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT AROUND!
