after the animation show, my weekend took a decided upturn. what could possibly improve it — especially in the face of a particularly shitty sunday coming up? why, the Incredible Hulk, of course!

now, i’m a bit skeptical after the giant-fucking-flop that was ang lee’s 2003 attempt at the hulk. i mean…i don’t even clearly remember wtf that movie was about exactly. jennifer connelly was the best part of the whole damn thing (a. she was in labyrinth thus i love her forever and b. she’s fucking gorgeous) and her talents were utterly fucking wasted on that steaming pile of trash movie. in fact, the only thing that movie had in common with the actual hulk world was: there is a dude who gets big/violent/green when he’s angry. and that’s about it.

is fucking fantastic. like, sea turtle fucking season fantastic. it has comedy, full-frontal ween, a bit of gross-out humor and motherfuckin’ puppets. also, paul rudd is my future manwife.

it’s so great because it’s basically nick andopolis all grown the fuck up, also naked. he may be surrounded in some major creepy vibes, and he may be a bit too much to handle sometimes, but all in all he’s fabulous.

ok so i don’t know who this “ashley tisdale” mofo is, but i’m sure she’s not anyone worth a damn. but…ok…RAGE IS MOUNTING!!!!

apparently they are going to up and fucking re-make the 1989 motherfucking classic that is teen witch. i mean, how could you? is nothing sacred? really, i mean…REALLY?! gawd, why don’t they just re-make every damn movie of the 80s and early 90s and call it original fucking content and hope that no one knows the fucking difference. and ok ok ok, so teen witch was uber-fuckin’-cheesy as hell…but with that much cheese, you make some motherfuckin’ nachos and enjoy it, man. nachos are delicious, by the way.

and really, how are they ever going to top “top that”?

this weekend at our house the boy and i went to devour scrumptious foods (oh our house, how i love you…), and as is custom, a movie was playing or the afternoon lull. this usually only happens during the off-season of baseball, yet it is a nice change. the precious time between sox mania is too rare around these parts. but i digress, this weekend the film on screen was that odious drivel: the wedding crashers (which, was picked to follow motherfuckin’ blow with motherfuckin’ johnny depp). i cannot for the life of me suspend my disbelief at this fucking movie.

if you are not familiar, a bit of background:

John Beckwith (Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vaughn), single bachelors, are long-time friends and business partners in divorce mediation in Washington D.C. The friends frequently “crash” (attend as uninvited guests) wedding parties to meet women, working from a set of rules taught to them by Chazz Reinhold (Will Ferrell). The duo always have cover stories for inquisitive guests and inevitably become the hit of every reception, to charm their way into the hearts of a bridesmaid for one night only.

tomorrow is april 1st and the official cd release party for roadsteamer‘s new album, the most pretentious album since axl’s (8:00 pm at great scott’s in allston, 18+, $8) if that’s not a good omen for the month of april then i don’t know what is.

further proof? friday is santana in concert…aw hell yeah. and the next day? margaret fucking cho. live, bitchez. with liam sullivan. SHOES BETCHES! it’s going to be a really epic weekend, and i’ll be damned if i let work ruin it. or anything else, for that matter.

march is effectively ending and i could not be happier. the first part of the year is always kind of lousy. but the boy and i had a particularly low key weekend, which was nice. also: i properly had some alcohol, finally! god, mr. daniels, how i missed you. last night we saw run fatboy, run. it was so wonderfully hilarious (and a touch gross, too), totally perfect end to the weekend. in fact, i would totally see it again. it was cute and funny. maybe not on the same level as shaun of the dead, but awesome nonetheless. also? david fuckin’ schwimmer? the hell? i never would’ve pegged him as having an iota of talent, or directorial abilities. then again, simon pegg carried the movie.

in other news…i.want.these.so.hard: shelves of untold awesomeness.

are they not the most fabulous things you’ve ever seen? wouldn’t my apartment be that much more awesome if i had these? they’re beyond fabulous! i am so covetous right now, i swear.

and the thing i covet the most:

chris cornell, his voice is so delicious it should be illegal. michael jackson fucking wishes he could ever sound this incredible.

see? there is NOTHING to prepare you for just how fantastic that is! he’s soooooooooooooo pretty! plus the movie was really great. of course, the boy is not a huge gaiman fan, but he totally doesn’t count, so it all works out!

i am, of course, ever so grateful for the weekend. i have had an utter week from hell and am looking forward to some rest and relaxation and good times. naturally, this is going to require a small amount of hard work, but we’ve been away/busy for so long that the apartment has really suffered…i mean, i have a bedroom floor somewhere, i just need to find it.
