LOOK AT ALL THESE RECORDS!!! LOOK AT THEM!!!
alex gave me a gift certificate for my birthday and then i had the PLAGUE OF DOOM! so we weren’t able to go to deja vu records in a million years and that cert was just burning a hole in my pocket.
today, after awesome dim sum with AR & her husband, we went with one of aragorn’s new coworkers (with the ridiculous name) and oh my god…SO AWESOME!
so unbelievably awesome! i love eleni so much, and the record store is literally the greatest place on earth. plus we got the WHOLE CRATE and the books and a selena live! last concert dvd as well!!! i couldn’t be happier. all i want to do is listen to records all day every day. plus, last weekend we hauled in 15 records from a combination of newbury comics’s vinyl sale and the (saddest) natick flea market (ever).

finally scraped together enough to purchase a bedroom set for our master bedroom, FINALLY! it wasn’t cheap, but it has been a long time coming that’s for sure. moving to this house has been fantastic and all that, but holy shit it’s been expensive. i’m not 100% sure how i’m going to pay it all of, but maybe now the house will be a little less empty.
still, very very expensive. and with the car still in the shop, i’m worried about being able to pay it all off plus i totally miss driving my car. i just want it to be ok.
if i think about it too much, i’m going to have a mega freak out.

today we tried to frolick to various things and were generally shut down left and right, but the one thing that went well (aside from brunch) was my new tattoo!!! hooray! it’s finally here!!
so, i’m starting a cat lady sleeve (though it’s really going to be a full sock, instead because i’m working on my left leg now)! and this is the very first kitty of the bunch. i’m not sure what else i’m going to add, but super duper happy with how this little guy turned out. also SO FLUFFY!!! so fluffy i want to die!! is it not the cutest little calico kitty in the world?! IS IT NOT!!?!?!? so cute!
also, i thoroughly enjoy the fact that she’s currently crushing a little cricket to bits with massive kitty destruction! because what are kitties good at if not destruction?
also, super adorable while accomplishing it! my tattoo artist this go-round was the most talented elize nazelie, from empire tattoo in somerville. she’s going to be working on the rest of my cat lady leg and i couldn’t be happier. i’m also venturing into the world of color finally and i think it’s going to be great. finally…finally!
i’m so super thrilled! also, not painful at all! it was easy peasy! i can’t wait for more tattoos :)

we randomly happened upon a newbury comics vinyl sale today and it was glorious!!! buy two (ANY TWO!) and get one free! that is like, oh my god that is fantastic. unfortunately, we were out in stoughton and it was the most dismal vinyl section in the world. at this point, i am positive that i own more records than the store had available to sell! and as you can see, i pretty much cleaned them out of all of their good music, anyway.
i grabbed: flight of the concords, the ramones, the beastie boys, wu-tang clan, AC/DC and daft punk. excellent! i still much prefer going to deja vu records. not only are the prices a million times better, but you’re buying from a place that actually cares about vinyl and quality music. newbury comics maybe started out that way in spirit, or intent, but they have fallen way, way, way by the wayside. it’s a shame, but oh well. someday they’re going to be 100% hot topic lite, and it’s going to be a sad, sad day.
but enough about that, RECORDS! we haz them! and they are amazing and awesome and i just kind of want to spend all day listening to them all and lying in a heap and just loving music. because that sounds glorious.

last night i went to see the gossip (with bonnie montgomery & magic mouth) at the royale boston. it was…INCREDIBLE! words cannot describe how utterly magical and fantastic and exciting and AMAZING it was. beth ditto is my queen.
and even though i spent the rest of the evening coughing until i had to get up for work (which i never made it to) it was entirely worth it! bonnie montgomery was fun, and actually tolerable for country — plus! she totally covered johnny cash! awesome! now, magic mouth? magic mouth was incredible, i was so so pleased with them. really dance-y music and just a great band all around. and bonus? super hot chick drummer!
words cannot even describe how incredibly magnificent beth ditto is, though. beth ditto is my QUEEN! seriously, and they played all my favorite songs and she covered whitney houston and it all rocked SO FUCKING HARD! oh my god, i wish i could see beth ditto perform every night.

we went to the drive in, and it was AWESOME! super duper awesome. i’ve never been, ever, but when aragorn got off work we drove out to mendon for the last night ever of the drive in for the season and saw finding nemo and the avengers. sure, we’ve seen them both and neither one is really that great, but drive in! yay!
the drive out there was real nice and peaceful, the fields were huge and there were two screens! also, everyone was so super nice and friendly AND the snack bar was amazing and cheap. plus, clean bathroom, which is like a first for a movie theatre in new england.
i can’t wait until april when we can go again, i forsee being there all season long next year!
